About Me
I’ve always been a writer and a gamer.

I was the little nerd who always carried around a spiral notebook filled with stories about normal childhood interests, like dogs or orphans or what I imagined being kidnapped would be like.

I was the president of the unofficial Animal Crossing club at my elementary school.

But I can trace my origins as a writer and narrative designer back to three particular eras in my life.

-
Cutting my teeth in text-based role-playing forums as a teenager. I learned how to create interesting characters, how to tell stories that kept readers invested, and how to write within existing IPs.
-
Discovering Dungeons & Dragons and other TTRPGs in my early twenties, both as a player and a GM. I learned how story and game mechanics can work in harmony, how to make bold creative choices, and how to set up my players for bold creative choices of their own.
-
Working in tech as a software engineer. The technical knowledge I gained during this time was invaluable, but even beyond that, I learned that anything is possible if I’m willing to put in the effort to learn how to code it.
All of these experiences, combined with my time in the games industry as a writer and narrative designer, mean that I’m equally at home in the creative and technical sides of game narrative. I can bounce seamlessly between writing characterful dialogue, developing and iterating on narrative tools and systems, and implementing in engine.

I’m currently open to work: freelance or full time, remote or onsite in Austin, Texas. Let me know if we’d be a good fit for each other!
